It’s only a few days until Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final and fans are really ramping up excitement for their team. One couple even had a Canucks themed wedding to support the team.
All the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore Canucks bracelets and groom Chris Charbonneau even had Canucks cufflinks. There was an Orca ice sculpture and guests waved their napkins like white towels when the couple arrived for the reception.
Everyone wore a jersey in the wedding photos and the two entered the hall to the Canucks entrance music and the list goes on.
Like any wedding planning it was stressful, but Charbonneau says for different reasons. “The Canucks were up 3-0 versus Chicago in the first series and then all of a sudden it was 3-3. We managed to score Canucks tickets for Game 7 to try and lend our support to make sure the wedding could still go on.”
He semi-credits their nuptials as the team’s good luck charm. “That’s what we’re hoping for. So far everything has panned out. We’re pretty confident that the Canucks are going to take Boston and hopefully we can get down and watch a game.”
