VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Alain Rochat’s goal in the 12th minute held up, as Whitecaps FC blanked Philadelphia 1-0. Joe Cannon earned the shutout for Vancouver. The Caps first win came on March 19 over Toronto FC.

The Caps carried the play throughout the match in front of  20,168 supporters at Empire Field.

The win snaps a 14 game winless string for Vancouver. Soehn now has a win, two draws and a loss since taking over for Teitur Thordarson. It was his first game running the club on the PNE ground.

Vancouver lost to the Eastern Conference co-leaders in the second game of the season by the same score.
