VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – With defenceman Kevin Bieksa locked up for the next five years, the Vancouver Canucks are now turning their attention to another defenscman to solidify their blueline for next year.
Christian Ehrhoff has three days to sign in Vancouver or he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, where he will garner a lot of attention from other teams.
Ehrhoff is coming off a great season where he tied a career high in goals with 14 and chipped in with a career high 36 assists for 50 points.
He’s looking at a huge raise from the $3.1 million he made last year. His agent told News1130 Sports that the two sides will speak later today.
If Ehrhoff hits the market, he’ll be one of the top defenceman available along with Joni Pitkanen and James Wisniewski.
