No charges yet in May fire that killed baby

HOPE (NEWS1130) – RCMP in the Fraser Valley say no charges have been laid yet in the investigation into the death of an 18-month-old boy in a house fire in May in Hope.

The boy’s body was found in an upstairs room only after firefighters had put out the blaze at the home in Hope. Mounties searched what was left of the house the next day.

RCMP Corporal Tammy Hollingsworth says they need to gather more information and need more witnesses to come forward before they can proceed. “Someone is out there that knows something, and we really want to urge those people to come forward. Something small, or something that you think might not be significant, could be very helpful with our investigation.”

Call RCMP or Crime Stoppers if you can help.
