VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Tim Brown’s one yard rushing major and Travis Lulay’s 63 yard touchdown toss to Geroy Simon early in the 2nd quarter gave the BC Lions all the points they needed in a 24-11 win over Saskatchewan.

Veteran kicker Paul McCallum continued his stellar season as he kicked all three field goals he attempted.

Lulay was 18 for 27 passing for 257 yards. Simon led the Leos with seven receptions for 63 yards.

Former Roughrider defensive back Tad Kornegay made his debut in the BC secondary, making two tackles.

New receiver Arland Bruce was on the sidelines, but did not play for the Lions.

Saskatchewan’s Gene Makowsky set a new team record for games played, as the 38-year-old offensive lineman played in his 272nd game, breaking Roger Aldag’s mark.

The east leaders, Winnipeg, are next for the Leos at Empire Field on Saturday August 13.
