The C’s take the rubber match

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canadians capitalized on two errors and three walks in the bottom of the eighth inning and beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 4-1 in the final game of three at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The Canadians struck first in the bottom of the second, when Matt Newman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Shane Opitz with the first run of the ballgame.

The Volcanoes answered in the top of the third. Garrett Buechele walked and eventually came around to score on a two-out RBI triple.

The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the eighth, when Vancouver finally broke through with three runs despite getting only one hit.
 
The Canadians now welcome the first-place Everett AquaSox in for a three-game series starting Thursday night.
