COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – The husband of a missing woman from Coquitlam has changed his story with police three times. Police believe foul play is involved in Lancy Hu’s disappearance.
Mounties have now had to issue three news releases thanks to the husband’s changing account, though no arrests have been made.
Sgt. Jen Pound with Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says they’re still just trying to figure out what happened to the 27-year-old mother of two, who disappeared July 15.
“We are not ruling out anybody as far as suspects go. The investigation is still moving forward. What we do want the public to be aware of is that she may have left with a black backpack as well as a MacBook.”
Pound says if you come across those belongings, don’t touch them. They are considered important clues in Lu’s disappearance.
The changing details in the husband’s account revolve around when he last saw his wife. Pound now says Hu was last seen at their home in Coquitlam, not at a home near Metrotown.
According to police, Hu doesn’t have a car, and uses public transit to get around. She is Asian, five foot seven and 119 pounds. She has shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.
Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Lancy Hu is asked to call the IHIT Tip Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
