WILLIAMSPORT, PA. (NEWS1130) – Team Canada pulled off a monumental upset today at the Little League World Series. Langley shocked 17-time champion Chinese Taipei to stay alive in the double knock-out tournament.
Langley pitcher Yi An Pan was the hero, pitching five strong innings and smacking Canada’s first home run of the tournament.
Canada is now 2-1 after knocking off Saudi Arabia 6-5, and losing to the Latin American champions 8-0. Chinese Taipei had been 16-0 against Canada entering this year’s tournament.
Langley’s next game is at 1 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of today’s late game between Saudi Arabia and Japan.
