Kamloops native wins gold at mountain bike championships

CHAMPERY, SWITZERLAND (NEWS1130) – Catharine Pendrel from Kamloops has won gold at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Champery, Switzerland.
She finished 28 seconds ahead of defending world champion Maja Wloszczowska of Poland in the cross-country race.
Pendrel is the first Canadian to win a world title in nearly a decade. She is the world’s number ranked cross-country racer. Pendrel finished the 31.8-kilometre race in 1:46:14.
