Mann Cup could be won tonight

LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – The Mann Cup Lacrosse National Championship could be decided in Langley tonight as the Brampton Excelsiors lead the Langley Thunder 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Brampton won 5-4 last night on the strength of Mike Hominuck’s third period goal.  Hominuck’s goal completed Brampton’s comeback from a 4-2 deficit early in the third period. 

Dan Dawson, Jarrett Davis, Sandy Chapman, Joe Walters also scored for the Excelsiors.  Athan Iannucci led the Thunder with two goals.  Michael Grimes and Kyle Belton also scored.

Brampton can win their third Mann Cup title in the last four years.  The Excelsiors last won the title in New Westminster in 2009.  Langley is appearing in the Canadian championship series for the first time.

Game 5 of the 102nd edition of the Senior A final goes tonight at the Langley Events Centre.  Game time is 7:45 p.m.
