VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Kicker Paul McCallum and defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell were awarded CFL Player of the Week honours after the Leos’ 28-6 victory against the Argonauts on Saturday afternoon.

McCallum received props as the top special teams player of the week as he went four-for-four on field goals to extend his streak to 21 consecutive attempts. The 41-year-old has a 92 per cent success rate on the season and last missed a field goal in the second week against the Calgary Stampeders.

Mitchell was rewarded as the best defensive player of the week after he recorded his first three sacks of his CFL career along with five tackles. He along with the rest of the Lions defence have held their opponents without a touchdown in three straight games.

The Lions will travel to Calgary on Friday in preparation for their match with the Stampeders on Saturday.
