Wally Buono expects he may lose two players to the NFL

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Lions coach and general manager Wally Buono lost receiver Manny Arceneaux to the Minnesota Vikings this season and Buono tells News1130 Sports that he could lose two players to the NFL next season.

Buono thinks defensive lineman Khalif Mitchell and offensive lineman Jovan Olafioye will be in the NFL after this CFL season.

Buono has talked to the agents for both players about a possible contract extension with the Lions but he was told by Mitchell’s agent that they want to try the NFL. Buono will continue to talk with Olafioye’s agent about a new deal.

Mitchell had a two-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers before signing with the Lions. Olafioye signed with BC as an undrafted free agent in 2010.
