The Canucks veterans finally get game action

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) –  The Canucks veterans will finally see some game action. Coach Alain Vigneault confirmed today that it is time to work the team’s vets into the lineup for the final three preseason games.

“We’ve got three games here in four nights,” Vigneault says. “Some players are going to play all three. A lot of them are going to play two of the three and we’ll be ready come next week.”

Vigneault’s lineup for tomorrow’s road game at the Anaheim Ducks will include Henrik and Daniel Sedin,  Dan Hamhuis and goaltender Roberto Luongo. Luongo is also expected to play Saturday when the Canucks finish the preseason at home against the Edmonton Oilers.

Forward Ryan Kesler made a surprise appearance at Canucks practise today. Kesler, who had off-season hip surgery after he was injured in the postseason, left just before the Canucks’ practise scrimmage to take dry land training.

Kesler’s agent Kurt Overhardt tells News1130 Sports, “It is a positive step but he’s not ahead of schedule, just on pace in his rehab process.”
