Canucks kick off a two-game California road trip tonight

ANAHEIM, CAL (NEWS1130) – The Canucks kick off a mini two-game California pre-season road trip in Anaheim tonight against the Ducks.

Tonight’s lineup will include veterans Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Mikael Samuelsson, Dan Hamhuis, and Roberto Luongo making their exhibition debuts.

Because his team played 107 games last year that included a seven game series against Boston in the Stanley Cup Finals, coach Alain Vigneault did not play the core veterans in the first four pre-season games but says they will play in two of the three remaining exhibition games this week.

The Canuck’s number one draft pick this summer, forward Nicklas Jensen, continues to impress Vigneault and will play at least one more pre-season game.

Vancouver has a 2-2 exhibition record.

On the injury front, Nolan Baumgartner will be out four weeks with a broken foot suffered after blocking a shot on Saturday. Steve Pinizzotto remains out indefinitely; Aaron Rome’s timetable to returning from a broken finger on his right hand is four to six weeks.

Game time in Anaheim is 7 p.m.
