VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Protocol was the order of the day at Vancouver City Hall as Canada’s Governor General stopped by for a short visit.
Vice-regality does not travel light; Governor General David Johnston arrived at 12th and Cambie with three black police cruisers, a big van, representatives from the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force in dress uniform, and a host of support staff and ear-piece clad security.
Johnston and Mayor Gregor Robertson popped into the mayor’s office for a few photos, along with their wives. No questions were allowed; they made a few comments and a gave a peek at some office art.
Johnston also met with representatives from the city’s Dialogues Project and people working on green initiatives.
