VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – From cleaning a giant aquarium to presiding over a wedding; YVR’s live-in storyteller has now reached the halfway point of his experience and says it has been the ride of his life.

Jaeger Mah won the ‘Live@YVR‘ contest and has been keeping busy during his stay at Vancouver International.

“I guess the best part was when I married somebody; I was the actual minister in the wedding,” he explains, admitting it wasn’t actually legal and the couple has been travelling around the world getting married in different locations.

Mah has also cleaned the giant aquarium in the international terminal and helped load a cargo plane with squid, salmon, and blueberries.

What else has Mah been doing on Sea Island?

– An airside tour to learn about runway safety

– Attendance/participation in two weddings

– Interviews with airport staff who were present at YVR for 9/11 and attendance at the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 ceremony at YVR where Anne Callaghan, US Consul-General presented a plaque to YVR

– A meeting with Canada’s national rugby team on their way to the Rugby World Cup

– A meeting with the regional manager of CATSA Pacific to find out what happens to items not allowed on flights that are abandoned at security (like his grandfather’s pocketknife that he accidently brought in his carry-on bag and left at security)

– A few celebrity meetings including Debby Ryan, Paul Brandt, and the Canadian Tenors

– Countless interactions with travelers, employees and pets making their way through YVR
