VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – We’re heading into the big food weekend of Thanksgiving!
This week on Foodie Friday we’re shining the spotlight on cranberries.
“We’re going beyond cosmopolitans and canned jelly to the cranberries that are on menus around the city,” says Cassandra Anderton with Good Life Vancouver. “C [Restaurant] right now is doing an amazing cranberry menu.”
It’s also a great way to support local farmers, since cranberries are a native BC plant.
And as we talked about on What’s Happening Wednesday, the Cranberry Festival happens tomorrow in Fort Langley.
As for the big day, and the big meal, if you don’t have time to cook the turkey with all the trimmings there are some “to go” options.
“The Delta Hotel out in Burnaby, they’re doing a Thanksgiving dinner,” says Anderton. “And you pick it up and take it home.”
Tableaux also has a take-out menu with chestnut and celery soup and moist turkey cooked to perfection.
Happy Thanksgiving!
