Accused Prince George serial killer investigated in Alberta

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There are concerns an accused serial killer from Prince George may have targeted women in Alberta as well.

Police in that province say Cody Legebokoff lived in Lethbridge between June 2008 and August 2009, a few months before the first woman he is accused of killing disappeared.

Doris Stapleton with the Alberta RCMP says they want to speak with anyone who may have had contact with him in real life or online, where he was known as ‘1CountryBoy.’

“We do encourage anyone that has information that could assist ongoing investigations in BC into this gentleman to please contact us,” says Stapleton.

The 21-year-old’s family is said to be in shock at the charges, with his grandfather insisting he had a good upbringing. Advocates in Prince George say local sex-trade workers are relieved to hear about the charges.
