ARMSTRONG (NEWS1130) – The community of Armstrong is holding a memorial today for Taylor Van Diest. She’s the 18-year-old who was murdered Halloween night.

Mayor Chris Pieper tells us the memorial is also for three other people who have tragically died this year.

“Two young people who were tragically killed in the motorhome fire, and another young recent graduate who passed away the last week of September in an industrial accident in Armstrong,” he explains.

“We have a lot of strong members in the community that have come together and all of these people have interacted with each other because we’re such a small town,” he adds.

Police are still looking for Van Diest’s killer.
