ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – Abbotsford police are warning parents a man who pleaded guilty to sex crimes against children is getting out of jail.  Jeffrey Goddard has targeted kids as young as 12-years-old on the internet.

He’s pretended to be a TV news producer, a teenage girl and a police officer to meet girls and boys online.

Last year Goddard pleaded guilty to several charges including invitation to sexual touching and luring on a computer.

Cst. Ian MacDonald says people living outside of Abbotsford should also be aware, “It is possible that he could be traveling to other communities as well and certainly if he’s spotted, that’s a phone call to police right away.”

This isn’t the first time they’ve warned parents about Goddard. “In fact he was the subject of three formal written news releases that were issued by the Abbotsford Police Department,” explains MacDonald. “We had some issues where once he had been charged he failed to comply with his court ordered conditions.”
He’ll be on probation for three years and isn’t allowed to hang around places where kids are like schools and playgrounds.  He’s also not allowed to go on the internet.
