Whitney Houston’s funeral to be broadcast live online

NEWARK, NJ (NEWS1130) – Whitney Houston‘s funeral will not be as quiet as was originally planned by her family.

After choosing to have a private funeral at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, the superstar’s family is now making a concession for the Saturday service.

Houston’s publicist has announced that The Associated Press will be allowed a camera at the funeral this weekend. The AP will stream the service here.

There’s also talk the feed could be broadcast on television, but there are no firm details yet.

In a special tribute to Houston, Oprah will have a two-hour special on OWN called “Remembering Whitney,” featuring an interview from 2009 that touched on the singer’s history of drug abuse.

Houston died last Saturday at the age of 48.
