SAINT JOHN, NB – New Brunswick’s finance minister says when it comes to the spring budget, everything is still up for discussion.
Following a recent consultation process with New Brunswickers, Blaine Higgs says thinking short term and making decisions were are popular at the time is not always the answer.
“If we go back in the past and you look at when governments have taken that approach… it didn’t stay… it all grew back after the heat was off or that period of time. It all grew back, bigger and better than it ever was,” Higgs notes.
When it comes to provincial finances, Higgs says the government has to look at long term sustainability.
