SURREY (NEWS1130) – Surrey RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire at an old Sikh Temple.

Around 3:30 a.m., Mounties and the Surrey Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a fire in the building near 142 St. and 88 Ave. Police say the building is now used just for storage.

Sgt. Murray Hedderson confirms witnesses saw three teens leaving the scene. “The youths are described as being approximately 16 years of age. One was on a scooter and the second was carrying a red Jerry can. One youth was wearing a red hoodie and two other youths were wearing dark-coloured hoodies.”

Hedderson adds no arrests have been made. “At this point we are still investigating and we do not have anybody that we can directly link to the fire.”
