Delays reported at Pearson Airport after small fire

Flights were delayed Sunday after a brief closure of one of the runways at Pearson, which had to be closed because of damage from a small fire.
The runway was reopened around 11 a.m., but not before several flights had already been cancelled or delayed.
It was this damage that saw Sportsnet 590 The Fan’s Leaf reporter David Alter left stuck in Ottawa, looking for another way to get to Boston.
“So it has everything to do with this runway issue that’s been happening at Pearson, because another flight out of Toronto that would be going to Boston a couple hours after mine has also been cancelled,” Alter said.
