Air Canada ramp staff stage wildcat strike at Toronto airport

TORONTO (NEWS1130)  – Air Canada ramp staff have walked off the job at Pearson Airport.

News1130 received several phone calls, Thursday evening, reporting that workers gathered as a group and just left the airport together around 10 p.m. local time.

The striking workers are demonstrating at Terminal 1.

Several Air Canada flights have been delayed at the airport.

There has been no official confirmation of the actions from Air Canada.

Ramp staff are responsible for unloading baggage and marshalling in planes.

So far, flights out of Vancouver to Toronto have not been affected.
