The first big cut has been made on “Canada’s Got Talent.”

On Sunday, in a two-hour special aired on Citytv, 200 acts from across the country were slashed to just 39 to move on to the semifinals.

At first, 37 acts were chosen. But after much deliberation, judges Martin Short, Stephan Moccio and Measha Brueggergosman could not contain the semifinalists to just 37.

Two additional acts from the Youtube “Last Chance Auditions” will also be included, bringing that total number to 39. They will revealed live on Tuesday, April 3, at 8 p.m. local time during the first-ever results show.

The semifinalists will perform live on Citytv on a super-sized night starting Monday, April 2 at 8 p.m.

An encore presentation of the semifinalist reveal airs Sunday, April 1, at 8 p.m. local time on Citytv.

Contestants are competing for the grand prize includes $100,000, a Nissan GTR worth $105,000, a Las Vegas show, and an appearance at the Citytv New Year’s Eve bash.
