RCMP asking you to keep an eye out for human remains

By

PRINCE GEORGE (NEWS1130) – Mounties up north are urging travelers heading into the interior to keep an eye out for human remains.

Natasha Montgomery’s body has yet to be found, even though a murder charge has been laid in the 23-year-old’s death against Cody Legebokoff.

“We’re asking outdoors enthusiasts to look for those gatherings of birds. Anything that catches their eye, that looks out of place, like clothing, anything they think they may want to investigate,” explains North District Constable Lesley Smith.

“We’re specifically interested in information as it relates to side roads, logging roads, power lines and gravel pits between Prince George and Vanderhoof and Vanderhoof and Fort St. James,” adds Cst. Smith.

On November 27th, 2010, Legebokoff  was pulled over by Mounties from Fort St. James and Vanderhoof. After an investigation, he was arrested for the murder of 15-year-old Loren Donn Leslie. Her body was found off a logging road near Vanderhoof in November, 2010.

He has also been charged with the first-degree murders of 35-year-old mothers Jill Stuchenko and Cynthia Maas, whose bodies were found in the Prince George area in 2009 and 2010.

Police believe Legebokoff met women online using the nickname “1countryboy.”

RCMP are asking anyone who may have information about this case to contact them on a special tip line at 1-877-987-8477 (TIPS).
