VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you love to eat but you hate to cook, you can give yourself a break today and take part in the biggest restaurant fundraiser in the Lower Mainland.

More than 200 restaurants are taking part in Dining Out for Life from Whistler to the Fraser Valley, helping people living with HIV/AIDS.

Lisa Martell with A Loving Spoonful tells us thousands of people live with HIV/AIDS in the Lower Mainland. The money from this today’s event goes towards providing more than 100,000 meals every year to individuals and families affected by the disease.

“Nutrition is such a critical part in somebody’s health and well-being. So, we know that good nutrition is important with people living with AIDS and that’s exactly what we supply,” she explains.

Twenty-five per cent of the proceeds goes towards helping people living with HIV/AIDS, including Friends For Life.
