When will full report cards return for students in BC?

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – As the BC Teachers’ Federation asks its members to mobilize to unseat the Christy Clark Liberals in the next election, many parents are still wondering when they will see their kids’ first real report cards of the year.

The wording from the Education Ministry to school superintendents is ambiguous; they have been ordered to ensure report cards are issued “as soon as possible and in the usual manner.”

How that happens is still up in the air, with the timing and information to be included on the report cards still being worked on in individual districts.

Report cards were issued earlier this year, but many did not include grades; it was part of the limited job action that has since been ended by Bill 22, the back-to-work legislation passed this month.

The BCTF is scheduled to meet today with Dr. Charles Jago, the mediator appointed to help settle the labour dispute between the teachers and their employers.
