CALGARY (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks visit Calgary in their final road game of the regular season tonight. The Flames have been eliminated from the playoffs.
Coach Alain Vigneault will tweak his lineup for this game. Kevin Bieksa, who was out for maintenance, and Aaron Rome, who was out for a knee injury, are back in on the blue line while Chris Tanev and Andrew Alberts will be healthy scratches.
At forward, Dale Weise and Chicago Wolves’ call-up Byron Bitz will be in the lineup with Manny Malhotra sitting this one out. Andrew Ebbett is expected to join Weise and Bitz to make up the fourth forward line tonight.
Cory Schneider will start in net for the Canucks with Roberto Luongo set to tend goal in their Saturday finale against Edmonton at Rogers Arena. Schneider is 1-1-0 with a 2.45 goals-against-average in two lifetime match-ups with Calgary.
Vancouver will try to maintain its lead over St. Louis in the West and keep pace with the New York Rangers as they chase a second straight Presidents’ Trophy. The Rangers are home to the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight.
Canucks take a seven game win streak into this game. Vancouver hasn’t won eight in a row since its longest win streak last season in late December.
