Increasing economic optimism among Canadian business execs

By

TORONTO, ON (NEWS1130) – A new Bank of Canada survey finds business executives are significantly more optimistic about Canada’s economic landscape.

The central bank’s quarterly survey of senior management found a sharp increase in the number of senior executives anticipating a sales boost for their company within the next 12 months.

The outlook for future sales and productivity is actually among the most positive found since the recession.

While the survey also looked at employment, determining hiring intentions remain high among employers, many Canadians say they’re still worried about the job situation. Most of you also say you’re concerned about rising prices for items like gas and groceries.

The survey, meanwhile, says an increase in inflation expectations is in line with the rising price of oil.

The results of the survey will be one of the many indicators considered in the Bank of Canada’s next outlook for the country which is set to be published next week.
