Lingerie Football League puts US season on hold

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – They’re beautiful, sexy, and play a mean game of football. Lingerie football players in the US have had their season postponed until next year so the league can focus on expansion in Canada.

Jim Wallen with the Lingerie Football League says there’s still a lot of work to be done in Canada.

“We didn’t want to limit the initial success of LFL Canada by attempting to produce the US league in 2012 alongside the Canadian launch.”

He points out there’s no set season for the US players, and foregoing play this year will enable them to launch a spring-and-summer season for next year.

Wallen was impressed with the recent tryouts for the BC Angels.

“There were a lot of athletic, talented, coachable players or prospective athletes that came out. We feel the seeds of success are being planted.”

The Angels are set to make their debut this summer, taking on teams from Toronto, Saskatoon, and Regina. Another set of tryouts for the team is set for April 22.

While the season may be delayed, ladies from the US teams will still be playing.  They’re going on the road, touring Mexico, Australia, and Asia.
