VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Why not check out the largest jewel in Vancouver’s sporting crown this weekend?

BC Place is opening its doors today and tomorrow, letting you walk on the artificial turf and go behind-the-scenes in the stadium.

Cathy Delisser, Guest Experience Manager, says they are very excited to show-off their new, improved building.

“We are also going to be opening and closing the roof so people can see what that looks like, weather-dependent. Folks can actually go into the BC Lions and Whitecaps locker rooms. It’s kind of cool as not a lot of people get to go into that part of the stadium.”

Delisser adds this event has been planned for several months.

“We had planned on doing a community day when we opened but with a tight construction schedule and with the building being busy back-to-back [with events] since we opened, we really didn’t get an opportunity to do it as part of our opening. Plus, we’re really proud of our building. It’s pretty amazing.”

Admission is free. Doors are open from 12-4 p.m. each day at Gate A near the Terry Fox Memorial.
