Canadian golfer on the hunt for first PGA victory

AVONDALE, LA (NEWS1130) – Graham DeLaet fired a six-under, 66 yesterday as he sits in second place heading into today’s final round at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. DeLaet trails Jason Dufner by two strokes.

The Weyburn, Saskatchewan native is into his third PGA season, still looking for his first victory on the tour. His best finish came in Houston in 2010 when he came in third-place.

DeLaet believes the experience in Houston has prepared him for today, and he knows what he needs to do to be successful.

“One shot at a time. I know it’s a cliché but that’s kind of what I’m going to try to focus on and not get too far ahead of myself,” says DeLaet. “I’ve done that in the past, going into the final round with a chance, or even a chance for a nice finish where you get a little ahead of yourself.”

The 30-year-old played on the Canadian Tour from 2007 to 2009 and won three titles. He also represented our country at the World Cup in 2008 and 2009.

DeLaet will join Jason Dufner in the final pairing of the day. They tee off around 10:45 a.m.
