Deadly shooting in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – The body of a man was found this afternoon in the basement suite of a home on 70th Avenue near 124th Street.
Police are not saying anything more, other than appealing to witnesses.
Raja Majeed, who lives nearby, says his son witnessed a fight outside the home while on his way to school just before 8 a.m., said to involve the man living in that suite.
“He saw some people that were quarrelling with each other, making some noises, and there were some problems going on, but then he went to school.”
Majeed says there may be a lot more people who witnessed the same thing, “during the school hours, we have a lot of flow of traffic here because we have two schools in the neighbourhood, and most of the people come on our street and park their cars here.”
The victim’s identity has not been released, and police cannot say whether the shooting was targeted or gang related.
It is the second daytime shooting in as many days in the Lower Mainland.
