The province is prepared to spend millions of dollars to encourage drivers to buy electric, according to Transportation Minister Bob Chiarelli.
The Toronto Star reports the provincial government has set aside up to $60 million over the next three years for electric-vehicle incentives and building charging-station infrastructure.
The province already offers potential buyers an incentive ranging from $5,000 to $8,500 toward the purchase or lease of a plug-in Hybrid-electric or battery-electric vehicle.
