Father offers substantial reward in daughter's 2008 murder

SANNICH (NEWS1130) – It’s been over four years since realtor Lindsay Buziak was killed while showing a $1-million home in a Victoria suburb. Her father is now offering a $500,000 reward to anyone that has information that will lead to her killer’s arrest.

Jeff Buziak believes someone knows something.

“Lindsay’s murder was February 2, 2008. We’re over four years now and Saanich Police have no answers for us. Everybody is very upset about this because there are killers walking around the Greater Victoria area – killers and planners.”

Buziak is hoping this money will help someone who might be scared to come forward with some answers.

“I believe everything we do will assist the police because I don’t really know what they are doing. They don’t seem to tell anybody what they are doing. They keep saying they need help from the public, they keep saying they need information, they keep saying people are holding back information. We’re doing everything we can to try and gather that information for them. To try and spur somebody that might have something bothering them to come forward with it.”

“We just delivered 250 letters in the neighbourhood of the murder. We got a great response from people. Did we get the key to solving the murder? Probably not. Is it there? Possibly. Is it somewhere else? Yes,” believes Buziak.

“We have to keep the community aware that there are killers and planners of Lindsay’s murder still there in Victoria and someone has to speak out about this or they’re going to get away with it.”

Lindsay was 24 when she was murdered in the Victoria suburb of Saanich. She was stabbed multiple times in the head and chest in a vacant home that she had arranged to show to a couple. That couple has never been found.

The case has drawn international attention. In 2010, Dateline NBC did a story about Lindsay’s unsolved murder.

A tip line has been set up to help find her killer. The numbers are 250-475-4356 or 1-888-980-1919.
