VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – What day do you want to have off? The government is offering up choices for Family Day.

We could take the third Monday of February of 2013 as our inaugural Family Day. However, we wouldn’t be alone, sharing the holiday with five Canadian provinces, as well as Presidents Day south of the border.
 
What about a week earlier? That means no sharing the ski hills with out-of-towners or fighting through long-weekend traffic made worse by travellers.

The province wants to know which works best with your schedule and that of your employers, plus the tourism and business industry. The consultation is taking place before finalizing the date. The tourism industry has already been very outspoken of its support for the holiday, though no mention has been made of its preference for a particular date.
