CFIA expands recall for bagged salads possibly contaminated with listeria

OTTAWA – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a warning asking the public not to consume certain brands of bagged salad over possible listeria contamination.
On Saturday, a warning was issued over certain Compliments brand salads and prepared foods.
Now they have issued a warning for the public, as well as various importers, distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeteria, hospitals and nursing homes, not to serve or consume various River Ranch Fresh Foods and Sysco Natural salads because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The following River Ranch products are affected by this expanded alert:

The smaller size retail packages of salads have Best Before dates between 12MAY 2012 – 22MAY 2012. The larger size packages of salads sold to foodservice have Julian dates between 116 – 125. The code date is typically located in the upper right hand corner of the packages.
Those items marked *NEW* are part of the recall expansion announced on May 21. The smaller size retail packages of salads have Best Before dates between 12 MAY 2012 – 29 MAY 2012, while the larger size packages of salads sold to foodservice have Julian dates between 118 – 125.
The CFIA says the products have been distributed nationally.
The importers listed below are voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace:
