VPD warns convicted sex offender will be living in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A convicted sex offender who has a history of abusing young girls overseas and women here is being released and plans to live in Vancouver.

Don Michel Bakker, 48, is a high risk to re-offend. Vancouver Police say those at risk are girls under the age of 18 and female sex trade workers.

Bakker is white, 5’6″, and 155 lbs. He has brown hair (currently shaved) and brown eyes.

His restrictions include:

– Not having contact with anyone under the age of 18
– Not visiting daycares, schools, playgrounds, or public parks, public swimming, or camping grounds where kids might be
– Not having any contact with any sex trade workers
– Not possessing any pornography or having any porn at his home
– Not accessing any computers or electronic devices (including cell phones) that can access the Internet
– Not owning any cameras, video cameras or any other device that can record footage
– A curfew of 11 p.m.

If you see Bakker violating these rules, you’re asked to call 911.
