VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Welcome to June! It’s a soggy start to the month, despite summer being just around the corner.
“It seems like wishful thinking to be pining for the start of summer on what just might be the wettest day of the entire spring season. But from what I see, the rest of the month is a calmer phase. It’s also a slightly cooler one,” explains News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate.
Lacate tells us normal June temperatures top out near the 20-degree mark. “But for the next 30 days, I think the more common number you’ll find in my forecast will be about 17 degrees.”
He notes June is often unsettled with rains coming once out of every three days or so.
“I’ll continue to feature occasional showers in the forecast for the following three weeks, but I see no more dastardly storms out there. The jet stream is really going to peter out this time of year,” he adds.
