Whitecaps unveil new third jersey

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Whitecaps have introduced their new third jerseys.

The team says it is drawing on the the forests of British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest for its inspiration.  The new kit is Arbutus Brown with Sky Blue accents.

“We’re launching the third kit today because for the last 38 years, since the first Whitecaps FC match in 1974, our fans have told us about their fathers and grandfathers bringing them out to Empire Stadium, BC Place, Swangard Stadium, and more recently the newly renovated BC Place, to see a ‘Caps match,” explains Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi.

He says that it was their intention to launch the new alternate look just before Fathers’ Day.

The third jersey will be worn by Vancouver three times this season, beginning this Saturday when the ‘Caps host Western Conference rivals Colorodo at BC Place (4 p.m.)
