VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Cee Lo Green is here, there’s a show-and-tell that may put all others to shame, and Greek Day is back on Broadway.

It’s a jam-packed weekend of events in Metro Vancouver. 

News1130 is a proud sponsor of the annual Brian Jessel BMW Gala Fundraiser on Saturday at the dealership on Boundary.  This year’s special guest is Grammy winning singer/songwriter Cee Lo Green, who will perform for an hour.  All money raised goes to several local charities.

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is on until July 1 at various venues around town.

Visit the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire: The Ultimate Show and Tell this weekend at the PNE Forum.  It’s a two-day celebration of making and creating things.  There will be interactive demonstrations and live entertainment.

Celebrate Aboriginal Day on Saturday at the Fort Langley National Historic Site of Canada.

The Professional Truck Drivers Championship is on Saturday at the Tradex in Abbotsford.

Scandinavian Midsummer Festival is on this weekend at the Scandinavian Community Centre in Burnaby.  Check out a Viking village, cultural displays, carnival games, food and the beer garden.

MEC Bikefest is on Saturday at the Athletes’ Village Plaza.  There will be clinics, kids’ activities, bike demos and the latest gear will be available, along with some some gear giveaways.

The BC Lung Association’s RUSH: Race and Urban Scavenger Hunt takes place Saturday.

Help the Vancouver Food Bank and enjoy some great cigars, whiskey and live singing at the Smoke Out at the Mosquito Creek Marina in North Vancouver.  Proceeds go to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

Opa!  Come celebrate the history, culture and food at Greek Day 2012 on West Broadway between Blenheim and MacDonald on Sunday. This year’s them is Olive Us Going Green as the festival is trying to promote reusing and recycling.

Bring the kids out to Trout Lake Day on Sunday at the Trout Lake Community Centre. Along with the games, music, art and picnic, there will be an attempt to break the world record for the largest group of people holding hands. Call 604-257-6955 for more information

This is certainly Not Your Neighbourhood Garage Sale.  The fourth annual Interior Designer’s Institute of BC‘s designer-sample sale is on Sunday at Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver.

Retro Design & Antiques Fair is on Sunday at the Croatian Cultural Centre on the Drive.
