Miserable spring weather affecting local weddings

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The crummy wet weather we’ve been having this spring hasn’t just affected our moods, but local weddings.

No matter where you are, the weather can always change. That’s why wedding planner Tara Thorpe with Forever True Design says it’s important to have a plan A, B, and C.

“We were actually on [Vancouver] Island and we were going to be doing a wedding out there. We had it [planned for] outside in the garden and it was going to be beautiful, but we had to move it indoors instead. We already had a location picked out.”

Thorpe adds due to the weather, business is slowly shifting towards the end of summer and fall.

“Last year was kind of rolled like this as well. A lot of people did move their weddings closer to August and September. We seem to be getting a better August/September than we do June/July.”

She says if you are really adamant on having an outdoor wedding, it can be done, but will likely be covered in tents.
