EVERETT, WA (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canadians were looking to avoid being swept in their three-game series but the Everett AquaSox had other ideas as they took a 5-3 victory for their third straight win.

The AquaSox got on the board first as Janelfry Zorrilla led-off the second inning with a double and later scored on an Alfredo Morales single.

Everett added to its lead in the fourth inning. Ketel Marte plated a pair of runners with a triple to left field and later made it home to give his team a 4-0 advantage.

The Canadians finally got on the board when Balbino Fuenmayor doubled home Derrick Chung in the sixth inning. Fuenmayor then came home to score on a single from Jordan Leyland, cutting the Everett lead to 4-2.

The two teams traded single runs in the final few innings to round out the scoring.

The loss dropped Vancouver two games back of Everett for top spot in the Northwest League standings. The C’s will be back home to open up a three-game series against the Eugene Emeralds tomorrow night.
