WHITE ROCK (NEWS1130) – A long-serving city councillor in White Rock has died.
Mary-Wade Anderson passed away yesterday afternoon, four weeks after being admitted to Peace Arch Hospital.
Anderson served on council for 12 years and was a part of numerous committees. She was 84 years old.
“Mary-Wade had two major interests in her life – the Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation and City Council. She was a force to be reckoned with on both and livened many a meeting with her famous one liners,” says Mayor Wayne Baldwin. “She was truly one of a kind and we shall miss her greatly.”
Aside from serving on council, Anderson has also worked as an industrial welfare officer, nurse, realtor and businesswoman.
City of White Rock facilities have flags at half-mast in her memory.
