Police warn public of potential sexual offender after rash of break-and-enters

TORONTO, Ont. – Police would like the public to be aware of an increase in the number of break-and-enters in the area bordered by Eglinton Avenue West, The Queensway, Kipling Avenue and Royal York Road.
At least one of the break-ins had a sexual overtone, after a man assaulted a woman after breaking into her home.
It’s alleged that, just after 3 a.m. on Thursday, a man removed a mesh screen and entered a home on Fernalroy Boulevard through a living-room window.
A 54-year-old woman, who was in her bedroom at the time, heard the suspect and called out, thinking it was her daughter who was also home at the time.
The suspect then pushed open the woman’s bedroom door, grabbing her by the throat and pushing her onto the bed.
The woman was able to struggle and run out of the room to call police.
The suspect was then spotted getting into a waiting vehicle, described as a blue sedan, which drove south on Norsman Street.
The suspect is described as white, 5’10” weighing 150-170 lbs. He has dark-brown hair and was wearing black pants, a grey shirt and black face mask.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
