Man arrested for flashing fake gun on Seawall

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man has been arrested for terrorizing at least four people along Vancouver’s seawall this week.

Robert Bellini is accused of going around with what looked to be a real gun, and pulling the trigger just inches from their face.

Vancouver Police say there are mental health issues with this individual.

News1130‘s Amber Rockcliffe was one of the victims, and she says she was approached around 10:30 p.m.on Wednesday in False Creek.

“He had a smile on his face, and he pulled the trigger, and it was absolutely terrifying because it made the same sound as a real gun would make, and it had a bright spark that came out of it, so, it was absolutely terrifying. I thought I was going to die, but I guess because it was pointed at my face, I knew right away that I had not immediately died.”

She is pleased to learn someone has been caught by police and hopes no one else has to go through a situation like that.

Bellini, a 36-year-old Vancouver resident, has been charged with two counts of assault, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and four counts uttering threats after being arrested.
