Canadians look to improve upon impressive home record

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canadians will be looking to run their record at Nat Bailey Stadium to 7-1 this season and earn a series sweep over the Eugene Emeralds when they get underway tonight.

The C’s improved their home record to 6-1 last night as they took a 9-2 victory over Eugene after opening up the series with a 8-2 win on Thursday.

Vancouver (10-5) sits two games back of top spot in the Northwest League Standings. The Canadians trail the Everett AquaSox (12-3) by two games.

The Canadians are in the middle of a six-game homestand. Following their series finale with the Emeralds, Vancouver will host the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes for three games.

Vancouver’s Balbino Fuenmayor is among the league’s offensive leaders through 15 games. The Venezuela native is hitting .400, which has in a tie for first, while his 18 RBI’s are the most in the league.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
