MONTREAL (NEWS1130) – Tests are still being done on the remains, but there are reports the missing part of a grisly puzzle may have been found in a Montreal park.

Montreal Police have sent the human remains, discovered in a park near Luka Rocca Magnotta’s former Montreal apartment, for lab testing.

“Now our Major Crime Squad Investigators got information led them to Angrignon Park,” says Montreal Police.

The park is located only several kilometres from where Magnotta used to live.

Police are hoping to determine whether the remains, which are reportedly a human head, may belong to Chinese student Jun Lin, who was brutally killed in Montreal more than a month ago.

“We must wait for results of analysis that will be done over the next few days, or the next week, to determine if what was found in the park is indeed body parts,” the spokesperson added.

The head of Lin has not been found, while his body parts have been found in various parts of the country.

Lin’s torso was found in a suitcase in Montreal in May, while his hands and feet were mailed to political parties in Ottawa and two B.C. schools.

To this point, his head has not been found.

Luka Rocca Magnotta is charged in the murder and dismemberment of Lin. He pleaded not guilty to all charges last month.
